The Ormsby Guitars Story  

Founded in 2007, Ormsby Guitars quickly made a name for itself by combining advanced technology with masterful craftsmanship. Perry Ormsby’s focus was always clear: create guitars that not only look beautiful but perform at the highest level. Ormsby Guitars offer a wide range of instruments, from custom hand-built models to production models, all designed with a clear vision of innovation, playability, and precision.

 One of the standout features of Ormsby Guitars is multiscale fretboards, which help improve both playability and intonation. These fanned fret designs provide more even string tension, allowing for clearer notes, especially in lower tunings. The result is a guitar that feels more comfortable to play, and one that stays in tune better, even under heavy use. 

 The Three Ormsby Guitar Lines  Ormsby Guitars offers three distinct lines to cater to a wide range of players:   

 •   Custom Shop Models (Made in Perth, Australia): These are the epitome of Ormsby’s craftsmanship. Each guitar is hand-built with exceptional attention to detail, making them the perfect choice for musicians who want a truly personalized instrument. The Custom Shop models are all hand-crafted by Perry Ormsby and his team in Perth, Australia. While some precision elements like the backplate and truss rod are CNC-machined for accuracy, every other aspect of the guitar, including the neck, body shaping, and fretwork, is done by hand. This level of artistry ensures that each guitar is one-of-a-kind and optimized for the player’s unique preferences. Customization is only available on these models, allowing musicians to select exotic woods, unique finishes, and hardware configurations to create a completely tailored instrument.   

 •   GTR Series (Made in Korea): The GTR series represents a more accessible line of Ormsby guitars, offering the same innovation and attention to detail but at a more affordable price point. These guitars are made in Korea and retain key features like the multiscale fretboard and high-quality materials while being produced with greater efficiency. However, these guitars come with set specifications and cannot be customized. The GTR series is perfect for gigging musicians who need performance and reliability without the custom price tag.   

 •   GTI Series (Made in Indonesia): The GTI line is Ormsby’s most affordable series, designed and manufactured in Indonesia. While these guitars are built overseas to offer a more budget-friendly option, they maintain Ormsby’s signature features, including the multiscale fretboard and innovative design. Similar to the GTR series, the GTI series comes with set specs and is not customizable. It provides musicians with a great entry point into the Ormsby world, delivering high-quality performance and craftsmanship at a price that won’t break the bank.
